NEIGHBORHOOD PARKING

GOAL:  Provide an adequate supply of parking for residents, businesses, and visitors; locate it to enhance the appearance of the neighborhood

Objectives:

• Reduce the amount of non-resident parking on residential streets
• Place parking facilities carefully to avoid breaking continuity of neighborhood
• Design parking lots to enhance safe vehicular and pedestrian circulation, minimize negative visual impact and be well landscaped
• Integrate parking with buildings when feasible and make all sides visually permeable and appealing to public

Recommendations for parking plan:

• Provide parking on both sides of street in mixed-use, commercial and high-density residential areas
• Provide for parking on one-side in lower-density residential areas
• Encourage use of angle parking in mixed use and commercial areas
• Encourage permit parking as needed
