KPNA Meeting Tuesday, May 12
The regular monthly meeting of the Kutzky Park Neighborhood Association will be held Tuesday, May 12, at 7 pm at Lourdes High School, 621 West Center Street. One of the items on the agenda will be the Walgreens store planned for the corner of Civic Center Drive and 11th Avenue. Several KP people have been working on a compromise plan that is more neighborhood friendly. The Walgreens plan is scheduled for consideration and vote at Planning and Zoning the following night, Wednesday, May 13. Come to KPNA on Tuesday to learn more about the plan, and consider attending the Wednesday night meeting as well. The more people in attendance, the more likely the needs of the neighborhood will be heard.

NEXT Saturday, May 16, same time--8am until noon.
Thanks to all who responded--hope to see you Saturday the 16th!

A Non-Extreme Makeover in KP
WHERE: The yellow house at 1103 2nd Street NW
The house is currently owned by First Homes and was recently leased to Interfaith Hospitality Network.
WHAT: A mini-makeover (new exterior paint) by neighborhood volunteers
WHEN: The proposed date is this Saturday, May 9, from 8:00am to noon.
WHO: Maybe you? If you are free and willing to wield a scraper or paintbrush for this project, please use the Contact Us button at left to let us know ASAP so we can get a count and know if we have enough people to make it a Go.
WHY: There has for some time been neighborhood interest in giving this house a new look. The suggestion at the April KPNA meeting was that First Homes could provide the paint and the neighborhood could furnish the people-power. Since then Sean at First Homes has sweetened the deal to include not only the paint but also doughnuts in the morning and pizza at noon.
Again, to help the planners, please RSVP ASAP via the Contact Us button at left.
---------------------------------------------
A reminder: The plan is to tear this house down for another use in the next few years. This is a temporary improvement that everyone can enjoy until whenever the new plans are decided on and ready to proceed.
